The Department of International Management at FH JOANNEUM has been offering the GLOBAL BUSINESS PROGRAM successfully since 2003. Students from such diverse countries as Azarbaidjan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Columbia, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Singapore, Slovenia, Sweden and the United States have joined Austrians in a program that is much more than just a study abroad program.
For many of our exchange students their semester in Graz turns into one of the most important experiences in their lives. Some of our previous exchange students have returned home to complete their university education, others already have started careers of their own and are now part of the global economy . Irrespective of whether they work in multinational or domestic companies, in the public or private sector, in profit or non-profit organizations, in manufacturing or in service industries, they are all affected by globalization. Such an environment needs students who not only know the ins and outs of management but also know how to work in such a multi-faceted, multi-cultural world.
As someone who currently contemplates to participate in an exchange program or someone who has already taken this step you are well prepared to be successful in this global economy. By studying abroad you will be proving much more than just the fact that you can complete courses abroad: you will be demonstrating that you are able to live and work effectively in a setting that differs in language and culture – an ability which is sought after by companies worldwide. To this end, we are trying our utmost to make your study abroad term as pleasant and fruitful as possible. One major element in this is to provide you with an excellent academic experience that respects differences concerning the level of foreign language competence, academic calendars, credit transfer policies, learning styles, and more. The GLOBAL BUSINESS PROGRAM (GBP) at the Department of International Management at FH JOANNEUM has been designed to meet such differing needs and requirements.
May your stay in Graz be a successful and enriching experience!
