Course content

The course covers products based on customer needs.

The core contents include:
[1] Life Insurance: Customer needs, product offering and ffunctioning, boundary insurance vs Investment products (comparison of different products, eg fund-linked insurance vs. fund investment)
[2] Health Insurance: customer needs, benefits of private health insurance Vs. state offer, peculiarities of health insurancies in Austria
[3] Insurance against loss or damage: Customer needs, boundary private vs. corporate business, product Overview
[4] Accident Insurance: Customer needs, private accident insurance vs. government offer, product overview
[5] Occupational provision: safeguarding the future, company guaranteed pensions, pension reinsurance
[6] Reinsurance products: functionalities, business model , provider

Learning outcomes

After completion of this module, the students will be familiar with the most important instruments for corporate financing as well as financial market instruments for investment, the hedging of corporate and financial transactions and understand how they work. Likewise, students are familiar with traditional insurance products for private and business customers and are able to allocate them to specific customer needs.
