Course content

The course deals with topics of asset management and financial market theory, in particular with regard to the allocation of assets in terms of efficient portfolios.

The core contents include:
[1] Portfolio theory and portfolio pptimization
[2] Capital market theory (CAPM)
[3] Security market line
[4] Market model
[4] Arbitrage price theory
[5] Factors models

During the course, the digital skills of the participants will be promoted through the application of the learned content in state of the art software (Excel, R, Python, etc).

Learning outcomes

After completing the module Financial Management & Investment Analysis, the students are able to analyze and evaluate financial market instruments, established business valuation methods, their parameters and can apply them. In addition, students are able to understand the basics of portfolio management and understand the concepts of financial market theories and are able to understand their models using econometric analysis and review. Likewise, the students are familiar with the tasks, functions and processes of the company's treasury, those financial instruments that are used within the scope of the company's treasury, and can evaluate these and understand and analyze external valuations.
