The experiences I had during my semester abroad in California largely met my expectations of spending a semester abroad. California Polytechnic State University is well-known in the construction industry and this is evident from its numerous awards. The professors and others provided me with all kinds of support. <\/p>\n

Essentially I have to say that the semester abroad helped me to improve my language skills as well as shaping me as a person. You get to know other people and cultures and in my opinion, this is an important step in seeing certain things differently. At the start, it is often difficult to orient yourself but I received a warm welcome from the students and professors. It didn’t take me long to find some fantastic accommodation. The people I couch-surfed with at the start of the semester deserve thanks for this in particular. After a month, you will find yourself feeling settled and integrated.<\/p>\n

My personal opinion is that you need to see as many things and embrace as many experiences as you can to further your own professional or personal development. I have to say that, despite a few small complications along the way, I would not have wanted to miss out on this experience of spending a semester abroad. I would advise anyone to take the opportunity and expand their horizons!<\/p>\n

I would like to take this chance to thank the employees and professors at FH JOANNEUM and the Marshall Plan Foundation who made it possible for me to enjoy a fantastic and enriching overseas stay.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
