Analytic clinical chemistry and automation in labs
Tutorial, 3.00 ECTS
Course content
Methods of measurement reading and interpretation possibilities: analytic methods of separation, photometric procedures, electrochemistry, osmometry, dry state chemistry, parameter specific preanalysis, analytic methods of measuring and determination of clinical chemistry parameters (proteins, metabolites, enzymes, electrolytes etc.), urinalysis and analysis of various specimens; quality management, documentation, validation and interpretation of results, instrumental analyses, POCT.
Learning outcomes
The students know pathophysiological mechanisms and can refer to them in clinical lab diagnostics correctly. They can describe analysis methods properly and give rules to their application in preanalytics, analytics and interpretation of the results. The students carry out selected qualitative and quantitative analytical methods to determine clinical parameters manually and by automated operation. The students identify problems in the execution, quality assurance and validation of clinical analytics and solve them correctly and independently.
The students have basic IT knowledge for the lab-area.
