Applied analytics in laboratories 1

Course content

Planning, realisation and findings interpretation of diagnostic uses on the basis of case studies. The case studies will be worked on interdisciplinary with methods of the cell culture, clinical-chemical lab diagnostics or functional-diagnostic exercises as well as investigations from the histologic, haematological, homostaseological, cytological, histopathological, immunological, immunhaematological or molecular-biological analysis procedures.

Learning outcomes

The students apply the knowledge about methods and techniques previously gathered in the study laboratories in different specialist fields of biomedical science. They are able to improve their approach to work, to test their results and to release the findings. They enhance their knowledge of analytical processes and reflect upon their own competence. In the different placement periods the students get to know different work places and have to meet different learning objectives appropriate to their knowledge level. They can choose methods, apply techniques, link information and explain contexts. Case-based studies help them to suggest further diagnostic measures. They are able to interpret findings, make validity checks, and are able to criticize their findings according to the quality criteria.
