Editorial Processes and Project Management
Integrated course, 5.00 ECTS
Components of editoral workflows; description and illustration of workflows (e.g. diagrams) as well as tools for planning them; ensuring that the necessary workflows are being reflected in the CMS; implementation of workflows for the employees; tools and instruments for the ongoing planning of content and for ensuring its quality (employing editorial calendars, content matrixes, etc.); measurement parameters and and key indicaters for evaluating the quality of the content; instruments and methods for ensuring its quality in the long run; ways of budgeting the expenses for online projects and content strategies; basics and tools of project management; characteristics of content strategy and online projects; internal and external communication (with clients, employees, the management, etc.)
Generic competencies: - ability to synthesize, - ability to communicate. Field specific competencies: Generic competencies: - ability to solve problems in an innovative manner, - ability to synthesize knowledge, - ability to communicate effectively. Field specific competencies: - practical and methodological skills, - editorial skills, - management skills. After completing the module, the student has a thorough knowledge of the methods and tools necessary for implementing content strategies in organizations. She/He is aware of the processes that have to be used circularilly in order to ensure strategic communication in the long run and to constantly develop content strategies further. He/She can determine a budget for the creation of content and controll it as well as plan and organize the marketing of content. She/He acquires in-depth knowledge which is related to practice: In-house project management, co-ordination of teams and employees in organizations, co-ordinated interaction with the management of the organization, understanding of the processes and structures of the organization and adopting the position of an "agent of change" in the organization ("change management", giving advice and support as well as promoting changes in organizations).
