Course content

Supporting knowledge management trough social software (sometimes termed enterprise 2.0, social workplace, or digital workplace) has become a common practice in many organizsations. Unfortunately, many such knowledge management projects do already fail in their initial phase. Hence, the goal of this course is to develop a suitable knowledge management introduction concept for an organisational case (e.g. for the own organisation). Thereby it is important to set the focus on relevant processess or practices to support by knowledge management.

Basic knowledge on knowledge management and social software, identification of communication and collaboration processes, implementation of social software

Assessment methods and criteria

Exam Modalities  
- Develop a concept to implement social software in a case (e.g. the own organisation), or (if this is alredy done) develop a concept for improving an existing solution
- Documentation of the concept (e.g. with Word) and presenting the concept in the course
- Contribute to a joint blog post on the course results

- Quality of concept and presentation
- Quality of discussion
