Course content

Carrying out an empirically grounded research project as well as its ongoing documentation and discussion. There are e.g. the following options: doing quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods research, making a network analysis, carrying out an interview-based survey accompanied by statistical evaluation, usability study or applying digital methods.
Within the course, a variety of methods are being presented so that the participants are able to reflect upon their areas of application and are aware of their limitations.

Learning outcomes

During the module students will

implement the knowledge acquired in the courses during the semester,
have a practical understanding of the duties of content strategists in organizations or agencies, as well as the critical components, instruments and methods of the discipline of content strategy.
Be able to explain the expectations users have in regard to web content, and how these expectations can match the goals of the organization.
learn how to evaluate and optimize their own project work as well as the projects of their fellow students and successively build competence in creating the methodical framework as steps towards a content strategy.
learn how to integrate feedback from practitioners in order to determine their future learning path.
be also able to document and share the experience gained.
