Scientific Methods

Course content

Building on the experience gained in their bachelor's programmes, the students' practical and theoretical knowledge of the essential aspects of scientific work is deepened. This includes a discussion of typical scientific publication processes. Furthermore, a subject-specific experiment will be planned, carried out and discussed. The results of the experiments should be defended and reflected on in a presentation. In addition, there will be an introduction to the basics of scientific theory and practically revelant instructions for the preparation of a scientific work (the master's thesis).

Learning outcomes

Students can explain and justify the scientific quality and relevance of a publication. They can plan and create a scientific publication as well as judge its theoretical and practical results. They are able to identify, define and evaluate scientific issues.
