Study work-friendly<\/h3>\n

To make it easier to study, the Master’s degree programme is organized to enable students to work. Courses take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during the approx. 15 weeks per semester. Students write their Master’s thesis in the fourth semester. There are no attendance times at FH JOANNEUM, with the exception of a few Master’s seminar dates. Some courses can be held asynchronously. Students can therefore combine part-time employment with their studies and, if desired, bring in topics from these companies for projects and the Master’s thesis.<\/p>\n

The courses are awarded ECTS credit points, which are used to measure the workload for each course. One ECTS credit point corresponds to an average of 25 hours of work. Assuming a course is awarded one ECTS credit point, this is distributed as follows: 15 teaching units of attendance time (11.25 hours), approximately ten hours of exam preparation, approximately three hours of homework. This adds up to around 25 hours. This is how you can work out the average workload per course. The exact breakdown is usually explained by the lecturer at the beginning of the course.<\/p>\n

Self-study<\/h4>\n

The amount of self-study always depends on the student’s own level of commitment and ambition.<\/p>\n

Attendance<\/h4>\n

Attendance is compulsory during the specified attendance times. Students are excused in cases of illness after producing a medical certificate from a doctor.
