Course content


  • computer architecture
  • data representation (coding) and interpretation
  • compiler, interpreter
  • software build process
  • memory management: stack, heap

Programming language C

  • variables and standard data types
  • operators
  • control structures, distinction of cases, loops
  • functions, prototypes, memory classes of variables, memory organisation on runtime
  • pointers 
  • arrays, strings and pointer arithmetic

Students have to solve programming problems in exercises.

Learning outcomes


  • are familiar with the structure and operating principles of digital computers,
  • have a basic knowledge of software development,
  • are proficient in programming procedural C.
