Course content

  • stationary flow field
  • electrostatic field
  • magnetostatic field
  • law of induction
  • parameters for variable currents and voltages
  • sinusoidal currents and voltages
  • alternating current networks
  • three phase networks

Students have to solve examples in exercises, partly with computer support.

Theoretical relationships are illustrated in practical laboratory exercises.

Learning outcomes


  • have a basic understanding of electric and magnetic fields
  • can carry out calculations for stationary flow fields, electrostatic and magnetostatic fields for simple geometries - are able to analyze linear AC circuits
  • are familiar with the fundamentals of electrical power engineering.
