Course content

  • Semiconductor diodes and circuit examples
  • Bipolar transistors and basic circuits
  • Field-effect transistors and basic circuits
  • HF behaviour of basic transistor circuits
  • Differential amplifiers
  • Push-pull amplifiers

Students have to solve examples in exercises, partly with computer support.

Theoretical relationships are illustrated in practical laboratory exercises.

Learning outcomes

Graduates

  • are familiar with the function and operation of diodes and transistors,
  • are able to select the proper components for a specific task and
  • understand their application in elementary semiconductor circuits and can design and implement such circuits.
