COVID-Update: Sicher studieren

COVID-Update: study safe!

Linda Schwarz,

It has been a great pleasure to start the 2021 winter semester in presence and welcome all of our students to campus. Unfortunately, the epidemiological situation is getting worse. Therefore, as of Monday, November 22, 2021, the regulations at FH JOANNEUM will be tightened once more. These rules apply presumably until December 23, 2021.

Your stay at FH JOANNEUM

Access to the FH JOANNEUM buildings is only possible with an valid employee card or student ID, or by pre-registration.

During a stay at FH JOANNEUM the following applies:

  • Access only if you are vaccinated, recovered or PCR-tested
  • FFP2 masks must be worn all the time at FH JOANNEUM
  • Keep a minimum distance of one meter - whenever possible
  • Follow the hygiene rules and avoid group formation

Disinfect your hands when entering the building. Adhere to cough and sneeze etiquette and hand hygiene. If you feel ill, stay home. Only together can we protect each other.

Teaching & Exams

Together against Corona at FH JOANNEUM succeeds by converting courses to online formats as far as didactically possible.

Classroom units that cannot be substituted online are possible under strict adherence to the COVID-19-measures (2.5 G rule, FFP2 mask requirement, hygiene measures, etc.), but should be limited to the absolutely necessary extent. The decision on the mode of delivery is at the discretion of the course directors in consultation with the year representatives and in consideration of didactic requirements and the epidemiological situation.

Necessary exams and board exams at FH JOANNEUM can take place in strict compliance with COVID-19-measures (2.5 G rule, FFP2 mask requirement, hygiene measures, etc.) if it is not possible to switch to online exams.

For courses and examinations at FH JOANNEUM, the vaccinated, recovered or PRC-tested rule and a continuous FFP2 mask obligation applies, even if the seat has already been taken. The mask may be removed for eating and drinking or when students are speaking. After using equipment (tables, keyboards, therapy equipment, etc.), students must clean them.

Excursions are not possible anylonger.

Internships are still possible under compliance with hygiene and safety measures (compliance with the PCR-tested, recovered or vaccinated rule, FFP2 mask requirement indoors, hygiene measures) until further notice. Please coordinate with the respective internship company in advance.

Rule: vaccinated, recovered or PRC-tested

For vaccinated people:

  • Basic rule: second vaccination no longer than 270 days ago - but beyond that, there are other variants to consider, details can be found here
