Course content

This course takes place once a week and integrates the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, and emphasizes oral communication and listening comprehension in a culturally authentic context.

Learning outcomes

On this course, you will learn how to …
•    write in Arabic
•    use basic everyday vocabulary and phrases such as greetings, goodbyes, appreciation, rejection etc.
•    talk about your general situation, home country and occupation
•    introduce someone
•    describe your family
•    ask simple questions
•    express possession

At the end of the course, you will be familiar with the following grammatical structures:
•    Arabic alphabet
•    script and pronunciation
•    sun and moon letters
•    declarative and interrogative sentences
•    interrogatives
•    use of articles
•    adjectives and nisba suffix
•    singular and collective
•    plural
•    there is, have
•    expressions of place
•    possessive suffixes

Mode of delivery

Communicative lessons (especially after learning to pronounce) with focus on the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in an interesting cultural context.
