Course content
This course takes place once a week and integrates the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, and emphasizes oral communication and listening comprehension in a culturally authentic context.
Learning outcomes
On this course, you will learn how to …
• carry on a simple conversation in Italian
• provide information about yourself: your name, how you feel, where you come from, where you live, what you study or have studied and why you are learning Italian
• introduce other people
• make use of culinary vocabulary
• place an order
• book a table and handle other situations at a restaurant or bar
• talk about time (clock, days of the week)
• fill in a form
At the end of the course, you will be familiar with the following grammatical structures:
• verbs in the present tense
• nouns and articles in the singular and plural
• interrogative sentences and pronouns
• concordance of adjectives in the singular and plural
• prepositions
• negation
• main and subordinate clauses
