FLAGRAT. Gruesome stories from Graz
How can you tell and portray old tales and stories in an new way?
Through the use of illustrations and a specially developed imagery, interest in the history, traditions and superstitions of Graz should be awoken, and the often dusty myths and legends unleashed. Graphically memorable illustrations and compressed texts help provide easy access to the topic. This thesis demonstrates that it is possible to portray frightening and disturbing stories in an aesthetically appealing way. The author has always been interested in the history of Graz, and found these stories to be terrifyingly exciting. Therefore, through the use of her passion, illustrations, she wanted to raise awareness about the history and stories of Graz, and make them easily accessible to others.
