reddot design award for Lisa Faustmann

red dot design award for lisa faustmann 6

We are proud to announce that our former student Lisa Faustmann has won the Red Dot Junior Award in the category Communication Design with her bachelor’s thesis "WHERE IS LOU?".

Because of the growing technical requirement of the computer world, it is natural to create 3D models with a high polygoncount to get a detailed object. A style with a low range of polygons has come about in spite of these technical developements. Low Poly wins with its simplified optics and is a recognized style in 3D production.

This work takes a close look at the question of how an environment with characters for a shortfilm animation can be created, in the Low Poly Style. Another topic is how to get from an unrealistic to a realistic form. The result of this work is a trailer for a shortfilm.
