Update info on COVID-19: FH JOANNEUM is moving to digital communication and online teaching

Joint statement by the FH JOANNEUM Management, the FH JOANNEUM Board, the FH JOANNEUM Staff Council and öh joanneum.

FH JOANNEUM fully supports all measures taken by the Federal Government in the current situation to contain and slow down the spread of COVID-19. We are taking all concerns, fears and requests seriously. Our top priority is to protect the health of our staff and students, while also doing everything in our power to protect particularly vulnerable groups of our society.

With these objectives in mind we call on our employees and students to reduce their social interactions to a minimum, and to do everything reasonably possible to support the measures taken.

We will remain in contact with our staff and students via online channels, supported by digital infrastructure and various teaching and organisational measures we have implemented and continue to implement with full commitment.

We are available for students, staff and interested parties from Monday – Thursday (9:00 – 17:00) and on Friday (9:00 – 14:00) at T +43 316 5453 8800, info@fh-joanneum.at | Facebook and Instagram.

In addition, FH JOANNEUM has taken the following measures:

For students

FH JOANNEUM is closed to all students as from 14 March 2020 (until at least 19 April 2020).

  • All in-person classes and in-person exams have been suspended until at least 19 April 2020. We are currently working on ways to offer our exams online and provide you with alternative options.

  • Online teaching will be massively expanded: many courses will be offered online, beginning Monday, 16 March 2020.

  • All FH JOANNEUM front offices will be closed and the libraries on all campuses will also be shut down. The library online service is available on a 24 hour basis.

  • Many questions regarding the impact on your studies are answered on the FAQ page of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research website.

For staff

  • FH JOANNEUM has introduced remote work for regular operations as from Monday, 16 March 2020.
  • Business travel and work errands are prohibited with immediate effect.
  • We will inform our employees of any additional measures that may need to be taken on an ongoing basis.
