Foley | Sampling plugin

For sound designers it is not only important to know how to process and produce different sounds, in order to remain competitive in the industry you also have to be able to deliver a project promptly. Especially in film production, the sound designer is often subject to extreme time pressure. For this reason, methods which improve the process of sound design are always appreciated.

The practical part of this master’s thesis focuses on producing a VST plugin using pure data and camomile, which then enables the user to control sounds with the help of a MIDI keyboard. This plugin should make various processes related to film scoring easier. The theoretical part of this thesis focuses on plugin formats in general, as well as the current market, in order to determine whether the plugin developed during this thesis represents an improvement over current products.
