Project

LEGEND

The main goal of the LEGEND (Leverage knowledge for sustainable innovation and growth) project was to contribute towards increased competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and universities in Slovakia. SMEs and universities in the Košice region were given support enabling better analysis of knowledge available in the region and facilitating networking and collaborations tailored to their needs.

Knowledge transfer with regard to analysis and evaluation

In a global economy, innovative abilities are of decisive importance in achieving a sustainable competitive advantage and economic success. The project focused on the transfer of knowledge about current management approaches in the field of analysis and evaluation of intellectual capital.

In collaboration with organisations from Germany and Slovakia, staff from FH JOANNEUM provided practical guidance on intellectual capital reporting, which helped universities and companies in the Košice region to find new ways of improving management of and cooperation between organisations. Training courses were held and training materials and an e-learning system were developed with the aim of helping SMEs and their partners working in research and development to ensure more effective management of their intangible resources.

Increased use of intellectual capital

The success of the project is reflected not only in the increased use of intellectual capital as a management tool but also in terms of intensified international cooperation, providing the ideal foundations for improved knowledge transfer between organisations and increased regional competitiveness in the Košice area.

Two brochures have been published on the topics addressed by the LEGEND project and the most important project results were published in a research paper (see downloads) and presented at conferences.
