How can a city identity design create a positive image?
Every nation has an individual image shaped by history, politics, development and prejudices. In a globalized world of international connections, a positive image makes it easier to cooperate in an international context. The focus of this thesis is the creation of an identity for the city of Västerås in Sweden. This identity is based on the city’s characteristics, history, development and intended positioning. The identity includes graphic, web and spatial design elements, and should be visible online as well as in the city itself.
