The Composite Materials and Lightweight Structures Laboratory is part of the Institute of Aviation at FH JOANNEUM and supports both the education of future aerospace engineers and the implementation of applied research and development projects in cooperation with industrial partners.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

As part of the Aerospace Engineering degree programme, students gain practical experience through laboratory courses in subjects such as Polymer and Composite Materials Engineering, Lightweight Structures, and Engineering Design. They become familiar with modern manufacturing and testing techniques and apply these methods independently in a laboratory environment.<\/p>\n

In addition to teaching, the laboratory is actively involved in applied research projects and industrial contract work. Its main areas of expertise include the manufacturing, development, and characterization of composite materials, lightweight structures, and innovative material concepts for applications in the aerospace industry and related engineering sectors.<\/p>\n
