    \n \u2026\n that our university is named after Archduke Johann of Austria (1782 \u2013 1859)?\n <\/h2>\n

    As the younger brother of Emperor Franz I of Austria, he was one of the most innovative figures of his time. From 1811 onwards, he introduced a huge number of innovations to his adopted homeland of Styria, many of which continue to have an impact today. It was in this spirit that the Styrian government named our university FH JOANNEUM.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
