Our teaching and research practice is guided by our responsibility for the learning process of our students and our commitment to providing them with comprehensive knowledge and skills. Our applied R&D activities ensure the high quality of our teaching. We are drivers of innovation, working in cooperation with partners in education and business, and thus contribute to making Styria attractive as a location for industry and as a place to live. Our campuses in Graz, Kapfenberg and Bad Gleichenberg reflect our regional commitment.

    Did you know, …

…
that our university is named after Archduke Johann of Austria (1782 – 1859)?

As the younger brother of Emperor Franz I of Austria, he was one of the most innovative figures of his time. From 1811 onwards, he introduced a huge number of innovations to his adopted homeland of Styria, many of which continue to have an impact today. It was in this spirit that the Styrian government named our university FH JOANNEUM.
