English for office staff at FH JOANNEUM degree programmes<\/strong><\/h3>\n

At FH JOANNEUM, an increasing number of students are starting their English-taught degree programmes without any knowledge of German<\/strong> and only pick up German, if at all, once they have begun their course. It is therefore harder for them to navigate and plan their studies than for their German-speaking colleagues. The administrative processes and associated terminology are often a mystery for this target group, which does not make your work in the office any easier!<\/p>\n

Working in the office, you also have lots of contact with other target groups who can only speak or write English, either in person, on the phone or by email (e.g. telephone or email enquiries from interested parties \/ applicants, lecturers with regard to ERASMUS mobility, participants of Staff Weeks etc.).<\/p>\n

CAMPUS LinguaNEUM can provide support with such communication situations and help you feel more confident.<\/p>\n

There will be a choice of two consecutive workshops<\/strong>, whereby the Follow-Up Workshop<\/strong> can only be chosen after successful attendance of the Basic Workshop. In addition, the Basic Workshop is part of the Applied Office<\/em> for Secretariats<\/strong>. If you have already attended the modules of the Applied Office and did not have a Basic Workshop to choose from, you can of course still register for it. Just contact us for further details!<\/p>\n

Basic Workshop “English for office staff at FH JOANNEUM degree programmes” (1\/2)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The two afternoons (each 4 units à 45 minutes with a 30-minute break)<\/strong> focus on communication activities with supporting teaching materials<\/strong> and on simulating typical speaking or writing situations (email)<\/strong>. The emphasis is on communication and speaking freely but grammar topics can also be repeated, if need be.<\/p>\n
