The Food Processing Lab at FH JOANNEUM is a place for innovation and applied teaching and research in the food sector.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Our focus<\/h4>\n

Our aim in the Sustainable Food Management<\/a> and Food: Product and Process Design<\/a> degree programmes is to provide students with the necessary foundations through practical learning. By working on various research projects, our students gain an in-depth understanding of the food industry and are thus optimally prepared for their professional life.<\/p>\n

However, it is not only our students who use the Food Processing Lab.
\nThe lab also serves as a space for innovation, research and collaboration, where representatives from all sectors work together to find solutions to challenges along the entire food chain.
\nFor example, it has already functioned as an ‘open lab’ for agricultural processing companies and food start-ups, which have been able to realise various projects here. Innovative products are developed and new technological approaches are developed and trialled in the Food Processing Lab. In addition, experiments are carried out on designs for social and economic food supply concepts and a focus is placed on sustainability.<\/p>\n

An important research focus is the investigation of alternative protein sources, particularly through the use of insects, in order to develop sustainable solutions for the future of nutrition.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
