FH JOANNEUM is expanding its international educational offerings: As part of the European University Alliance EU4DUAL, students in the Health and Tourism Management program now have the opportunity to complete a Double Degree program with Savonia University of Applied Sciences (Savonia UAS) in Finland. This program allows students to earn two academic degrees without extending their standard study duration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Students in the Double Degree program from Austria begin their studies at<\/a> FH JOANNEUM in Bad Gleichenberg,<\/strong> where they complete their first three semesters. The fourth and fifth semesters are spent at Savonia UAS<\/a> in Kuopio, where they enroll in the English-taught program Tourism and Hospitality Management<\/a>. Between the two semesters, students complete an on-site internship, gaining valuable international professional experience. The sixth semester is completed back at FH JOANNEUM, where students also write their bachelor’s thesis. This thesis is jointly supervised by both universities, and the final examination is conducted online with representatives from both institutions.<\/p>\n

Upon successful completion, graduates receive two academic degrees : the Bachelor of Arts in Business from FH JOANNEUM and the Bachelor of Hospitality Management from Savonia UAS. The Finnish degree facilitates entry into the Finnish job market and provides additional career opportunities in an international context. (1)<\/p>\n

A Program with a European Dimension<\/h4>\n

The Double Degree program is aimed at students who wish to deepen their professional and intercultural competencies while gaining practical experience in an international environment<\/strong>. Through their stay in Finland, they gain new perspectives on current developments in the healthcare and tourism sectors – all in a country that consistently ranks among the safest and most livable in the world. As part of the EU4DUAL Alliance, participants benefit from a strong European network that offers additional opportunities for exchange and collaboration.<\/p>\n

We enter another way of seeing the world.”<\/p>\n

Partner University: Savonia UAS in Kuopio<\/h4>\n

Savonia University of Applied Sciences<\/strong> is one of Finland’s largest universities of applied sciences and a key partner within the EU4DUAL Alliance<\/a>. The campus is located in Kuopio, a city with around 120,000 inhabitants, situated in the heart of Finland’s picturesque lake district. The region offers not only a high quality of life but also a wide range of leisure activities, from outdoor adventures to cultural experiences.<\/p>\n
