The aim of this project, funded by the EU as part of ERASMUS+, was to close a gap in technical education in Kazakhstan. Through collaboration with companies and interested institutions and bodies, an effective dual training program with an international focus was developed. Based on cooperation with universities and technical colleges from EU countries where such programs are already being successfully implemented, this program is intended to become a leader in the West Asia region.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

The researchers at KEEU, INEU and WKATU had previously only developed academic educational programs for automation and robotics. Therefore, the information about the dual training process and the search for an organizational scheme for cooperation with companies was particularly relevant for Kazakh universities.<\/p>\n

FH JOANNEUM contributed in particular its know-how and its contribution to the methodology for the development and implementation of dual education programs as well as the pedagogical concept of dual learning processes. The experiences of FH JOANNEUM, which, together with German universities, is one of the pioneers of dual university education in Europe, were very valuable for the Kazakh partners.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Course development in the area of ​​tension between university and the job market<\/h4>\n

The challenge when implementing dual study programs is not only the development of a suitable curriculum, but also the feasibility and integration into the various existing labor and administrative law frameworks.<\/p>\n

The Kazakh project team adapted the content of the curriculum as well as the methodology and organization of the industrial practice to the specific national circumstances (education system, administration, labor law, etc.) in order to design their own path of dual training in the republic.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration was made somewhat more difficult at the beginning due to the travel and gathering bans caused by the COVID pandemic. Planned meetings and therefore conferences were held online, excursions to the industrial partners had to be postponed until later in the project.<\/p>\n

Results<\/h4>\n

The project results represent a milestone in the necessary modernization of the human and infrastructural potential of the Kazakh economy. The establishment of dual training in higher education is of great importance for the economic and social development of Kazakhstan<\/p>\n

Effects<\/h4>\n
