The focus was the development of a sustainable interaction design for the visualisation of energy data in order to positively influence consumer awareness and behavior, based on a theoretical framework that highlights fundamental aspects of energy as well as the relevant technologies.<\/p>\n<p>In the process, different design strategies were examined that aimed to influence users through targeted design measures. In addition, empirical surveys were conducted to gain insights into the actual requirements and preferences of users and to consider their implementation in the design process. Based on a comprehensive competitor analysis and the evaluation of the empirical data, a concept and a prototype of a visualisation strategy were developed. This integrates the principle of nudging to promote sustainable behavioral change. The findings from this study are valuable for the development of energy-efficient technologies and their application to promote environmentally conscious behavior.
