Course content
This integrated course presents an introduction to the Austrian energy market and the principles of the European energy market. Topics include the liberalisation of the power and gas markets, energy generation, energy transmission and distribution and energy markets including energy exchanges. Another focus is on explaining the methodology of power and gas billing from the perspective of different customer groups and the situation and funding instruments for renewable energy sources.
Learning outcomes
Module ETE4 presents an introduction to the Austrian energy market and the principles of the European energy market. Topics include energy market liberalisation, energy generation, energy transmission and distribution and energy markets including energy exchanges. Students are made familiar with the functioning of the energy markets and are enabled to take on positions in the energy market supply chain.
