Learning outcomes

After completing the course, students are able to:

• Create a layout of assembly workstations depending on product categories and lot sizes
• Select joining methods for manual and automated production processes according to requirements
• Configure handling devices and manipulators for assembly workplaces as required
• Design workstations for manual assembly operations based on ergonomic considerations
• Define and evaluate criteria for the optimal use of conventional or flexible assembly automation systems
• Select solutions for the use of robotic systems in assembly based on operational requirements
• Assess and evaluate boundary conditions for the use of collaborative robot systems
