Special anatomy

Course content

Based on the foundations of general anatomy special focus is given to the anatomical structures and organizations that are of particular relevance to midwives (pelvis, pelvic floor, diameters and skull circumference of the child, reproductive organs, nerve cell connections, etc.)

Learning outcomes

This module provides the students with a basic knowledge of medicine that enables them to acquire specialist midwifery knowledge. They are able to use the medical terminology correctly and can describe the structure and functional organization of the healthy human body. Particular focus is placed upon the special characteristics of the female body, reproductive biology and embryology.
