Course content

This course focuses on the efficient communication in English language with the pregnant woman and the woman in the puerperium. They simulate prenatal care simulations ( admission interview and course of pregnancy) and compile a vocabulary for the different stages of labour and the puerperium, instruments and equipment, medications and breathing and relaxation exercises and postnatal exercises.)

Learning outcomes

The students are able to counsel clients in abnormal pathological courses, initiate measures and /or carry them out under supervision by an obstetrician. • The students can • assess their own professional competence of organization, coordination, administration • teach patients and relatives efficiently and trustfully • recognize psychosocial changes and developmental processes and can initiate adequate steps • respect cultural and religious beliefs, ways of knowing and values • maintain all necessary records and analyze and evaluate the findings
