My semester at the Waterford Institute of Technology in Ireland.

I spent my semester abroad in Waterford in Ireland. After a two day journey by car, I looked for an apartment or accommodation in the town and found one in Tramore, south of Waterford, by the sea. Living in my own apartment rather than a student hall of residence proved to be cheaper and less complicated. The Waterford Institute of Technology explained in detail how things are done there. The International Office went to great lengths to look after us and was very organised, with over 200 Erasmus and international students to handle.

Numerous weekend trips to the capital, Dublin or to Galway on the fascinating west coast enabled me to get to know the land and its people better. I was particularly taken with the friendly and helpful attitude of the Irish. They are happy to invite visitors to their homes and explain the local customs to them. I really liked this multi-faceted land with its many shades of green, beautiful sandy beaches and steep rugged coasts. I really recommend spending a semester abroad in Waterford and would be happy to answer any questions.
