Learning outcomes

Students are able to
• explain basic terms effects and solutions in automation
• analyse technical problems concerning automation
• interpret the use automation in industry
• model the structure and key components of a sensor (from a sensor element to the intersection).
• explain in detail the most important sensors (temperature, pressure, proximity switch, etc.)
• explain disturbance variables and their influence on sensors
• explain key actuators in detail.
• understand the application fields and interconnections of actuators and sensor
• apply the basic principles of sensors and actuators in case studies and projects
