Science Tech – Revision Course
Tutorial, 1.00 ECTS
Course content
Overview of important topics of general chemistry such as atomic models, chemical bonding, chemical reactions, introduction to electrochemistry, some organic compounds and some aspects of environmental chemistry.
Learning outcomes
Describing of simple theories for the construction of atoms, especially the electron shell as a basis for the chemical behavior and bonding behavior of the elements. Explaining simple relationships in the PSE, such as metals, nonmetals and reactivities of different elements. Classifying chemical bonds and deriving the resulting material properties such as aggregate state, solubility, conductivity and melting temperature. Interpreting of chemical reactions, finding reduction and oxidation reactions, calculating with mass quantities, interpreting of redox reactions in galvanic elements. Explaining the structure and properties of important organic molecules. Explaining the influence of different emissions on the greenhouse effect
