Course content
Students gain a basic knowledge of mathematics to explain technical and economic basic principles at an academic level
• Basics such as numbers and numeric systems
• Functions and curves
• Composing function graphs with Excel, Matlab
• Differential equations - basics
• Differential equations - economic and technical applications
• Common differential equations - numerical solution methods with Matlab
Learning outcomes
The students are able to:
• show fields of application, methods and problem solving strategies in the field of applied mathematics (analysis, structured thought processes, arguments and proofs).
• solve mathematical assignments from technical and economic problems
• interpret solutions
• apply logic, analysis, algebra, geometry and statistics
• recognise mathematics and a contemporary key competence and technology
