International Supply Management

 

Trends and challenges such as the focus on key competences or the global shortage of raw materials call for professional management of the ever-growing supply chain. We provide training for the purchasing managers of the future who need to have a comprehensive understanding of effective information and materials flows in customer-supplier relations.

Lectures and practical exercises are held in small teams, which means we can focus on the individual needs of programme participants.

Mode of Study

Lectures are held on 15 weekends per semester (Fridays from 14:00 until 22:00 and Saturdays from 8:30 until 16:30) on the FH JOANNEUM campus in Kapfenberg. In order to promote sharing of knowledge and experience, lectures generally require on-campus attendance. They are, however, supplemented with virtual learning units for group work.

Application Requirements

A university degree or relevant work experience:

  • Degree in Business Management, Industrial Management or Law with some initial work experience, preferably in purchasing, procurement and/or logistics.
  • Degree in a relevant subject such as Business Management, Industrial Management, Law or related subjects.
  • Degree in a general, non-related subject with at least one year of relevant work experience in purchasing, procurement and/or logistics. 
  • Candidates without a degree must have at least five years’ relevant work experience or at least three years’ managerial experience in purchasing, SCM or logistics and a recognised university entrance qualification that entitles them to study at an Austrian university or university of applied sciences.

A commission decides on the suitability of a candidate on a case by case basis.
