Course content

This course aims at providing an introduction to the basics of accounting. On the one hand, students learn to work with the double-entry bookkeeping system, on the other hand, they will be familiarized with the legal framework. There will be an overview about General Ledger Accounting (SAP, BMD RZL).

Learning outcomes

After positive completion of this course, students are familiar with the areas of responsibility of the accounting department; they are able to explain the terms; know the connection between balance sheet and profit and loss account; to book the most important accounting records and taxes.
The students develop knowledge about the accounting circle (double-entry bookkeeping). They receive basic information about the basic conditions of corporate accounting, such as tax regulations. They also learn how to enter postings in FI General Ledger Accounting (for example, SAP, BMD, RZL).
