Course content

The aim of this course is to deepen the student’s understanding of corporate finance in connection with global financial markets. The course will have two main focuses. The first is in the area of cost of capital, sources of financing and the use of financial resources. The second is on currency risks, interest rate risks, commodity price risks and country risks in entrepreneurial decisions, as well as risk hedging through hedging instruments such as spots, futures, forwards, swaps and/or options.

Learning outcomes

Based on Module 4, the aim of this module is to provide students with a basic understanding of corporate finance, financial planning and risk management. Basic knowledge about financing, risks, risk management strategies and the connection with business decisions are conveyed. In addition to the theoretically-taught content, students get to know about IT solutions in which these aspects can be captured, mapped, analyzed, projected and optimized.
