Die Praktikumsstelle im Karapitiya Teaching Hospital haben wir uns aus einer Liste von fr&uuml;heren Graduiertenpraktika ausgesucht. Mittels des Managements &bdquo;Boarders and Beyond&ldquo; konnten wir den Kontakt zum Krankenhaus herstellen, was die Kommunikation und Vorbereitung des Praktikums sehr vereinfacht hat. Das Krankenhaus selbst deckte sehr viele Bereiche ab. Zun&auml;chst konnten wir Erfahrungen im ambulanten Bereich des Krankenhauses sammeln. &Uuml;ber die Wochen verteilt konnten wir aber auch auf allen Stationen (Orthop&auml;die, Chirurgie, Neurochriurgie, Neonatalogie, ICU, Pediatric ICU, P&auml;diatrie, Stroke-Unit, Kardiorespiratorische Reha, Palliativ, Onkologie) unser Wissen erweitern und teilweise auch neue Therapievorschl&auml;ge einbringen.<br>\nAus physiotherapeutischer Sicht haben wir auf jeden Fall gelernt, auch mit wenig therapeutischen Utensilien und viel Kreativit&auml;t eine ad&auml;quate und patientenorientierte Therapie durchf&uuml;hren zu k&ouml;nnen. Weiters war es f&uuml;r uns aufgrund der Sprachbarriere (da die Patient:innen oft nicht gut englisch sprachen) eine neue Herausforderung, die Therapie manchmal fast ausschlie&szlig;lich durch Vorzeigen und Fazilitieren der &Uuml;bungen durchzuf&uuml;hren.
