Course content
• Creation of machine and plant components using CAD
• Software-aided computation of machine parts
• Creation of design assemblies using part libraries
• Autonomous processesing of predifined design projects
Learning outcomes
After completing this module, students are able to:
• Apply general design principles in mechanical engineering
• Perform basic methods of static and fatigue strength computations for machine and plant equipment parts
• Understand and apply tribological principles within practical tasks
• Evaluate mechanical engineering joining techniques and assess their usability
• Create standard strength analysis computations for axles and shafts
• Carry out life-time-cycle calculations for rolling element bearings and design rolling element bearing units
• Design and dimension journal bearings
• Apply engineering methods when creating mechanical design systems
• Autonomously process predefined design projects
• Develop engineering design solutions using CAD
