• Basics of measuring geometric quantities in manufacturing technology
• Surface metrology
• Measuring equipment in manufacturing technology
• Measuring equipment capability and test equipment monitoring
• Fundamentals of Coordinate Metrology
• Selection and installation of testing stations in production facilities
• Acceptance testing of machine tools and production facilities

Learning outcomes

The students are familiar with the basic structure of DIN 8580 and can classify production processes according to this standard. The basics of common manufacturing processes are known so that they can be assigned to the corresponding products in the production environment. Furthermore, they are able to assess fundamental parameters for the process selection during the product development processes.

The basic knowledge for the documentation of of the dimensional productproperties is available.

The aim of this course is to enable students to develop basic production-related procedures on a project-specific basis. As part of a group work, a simple project in the field of production technology is to be processed, documented and presented from a technological point of view. Due to the "hands-on" character, technological process steps should be made "comprehensible" and thus tangible. The close integration of practical elements of introductory courses such as basic manufacturing technology and industrial metrology into the project promotes the networked thinking and "self-organization" of the students.
