Laboratory course industrial metrology
Laboratory, 1.00 ECTS
• Use of standard measuring equipment in production
• Exercises with mechanical and electronic hand-held measuring devices
• Exercises with computer-aided measuring equipment
• Exercises with surface testing equipment
• Coordinate metrology exercises
The students are familiar with the basic structure of DIN 8580 and can classify production processes according to this standard. The basics of common manufacturing processes are known so that they can be assigned to the corresponding products in the production environment. Furthermore, they are able to assess fundamental parameters for the process selection during the product development processes.
The basic knowledge for the documentation of of the dimensional productproperties is available.
The aim of this course is to enable students to develop basic production-related procedures on a project-specific basis. As part of a group work, a simple project in the field of production technology is to be processed, documented and presented from a technological point of view. Due to the "hands-on" character, technological process steps should be made "comprehensible" and thus tangible. The close integration of practical elements of introductory courses such as basic manufacturing technology and industrial metrology into the project promotes the networked thinking and "self-organization" of the students.
