In the second semester, students take on the management of a project team as part of an industrial research project and work on a customer assignment in a national or international company. From the third semester onwards, students enter the master&rsquo;s specialisation &ldquo;Smart Production and Services&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>What specialisations are available?<\/h3>\n<p>In the &ldquo;Smart Production and Services&rdquo; study track, you will acquire additional skills in the much-discussed intersection between production and IT. On the one hand, the focus is on technological foundations such as cyber-physical systems and operational information systems. On the other hand, you will deal with the digital transformation of companies and the resulting new processes and business models, particularly in the area of service engineering. The aim is to improve the competitiveness of domestic production companies through increased efficiency, greater flexibility and innovative business models. During your studies, you will actively shape the conception and transformation of Industry 4.0. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fh-joanneum.at\/en\/research\/research-centres\/smart-production-lab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Smart Production Lab<\/a>, one of the largest teaching and research factories in Austria, is available to you for this purpose at the Kapfenberg campus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Internationally accredited<\/h3>\n<p>The Master&rsquo;s degree programme &ldquo;International Industrial Management&rdquo; has been awarded the FIBAA premium seal. FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) is a European, international agency for quality assurance and accreditation of educational programmes in the higher education sector. FIBAA accreditation ensures that study programmes meet certain quality standards and are continuously improved. The main criteria for FIBAA accreditation are: quality of programme content, teaching and learning processes, qualifications of teaching staff, resources, internationality and professional relevance. In the first two semesters, the aim is to have one day without lectures. The e-learning units are planned individually by the lecturers. In the fourth semester, there are only a few lectures on the timetable at the beginning, as students are mainly occupied with their Master&rsquo;s thesis.<\/p>\n<p>Self-study always depends on the commitment and ambition of our students.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, 80 per cent attendance is compulsory for all Master&rsquo;s degree programmes. If attendance falls below 80 per cent, students must provide compensation. The form of this performance is specified by the course management. In the event of uncertainties, the head of department decides on exceptions to the attendance requirement.
