Course content

The course serves as an introduction to
TCP/IP-based networks. Strong emphasis on the
interaction of the protocols/-layers with each other and the application- and operating systems levels.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course students know the purpose and functionalities of operating systems, learn how to use different types of systems, get a profound knowledge of networks and the various
standards and protocols, basics of data transmission, various transmission media as well as the OSI reference model.
