Course content

In the course ESP students improve their academic writing skills.
The following topics will be dealt with in detail:
- writing different types of texts (special focus will be laid on writing
abstracts and summaries)
- acquiring strategies that help students comprehend and
independently write complex, scientific texts
- extending their academic vocabulary
- introduction to presentation skills: summarizing and presenting
scientific papers (such as project work or bachelor theses)

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, students have fundamental knowledge about tow to gather and analyze Web data as well as the knowledge and skills to do scientific work.
