BA2 - Interdisciplinary Case Studies

Course content

Production of an empirical case study: Search for a topic, developing a reserch design: research questions, to justify the selection of a type of case study, empirical survey, analysis and interpretation, theoretical references, finalize the second bachelor thesis.

 

The types of case studies include among others:

  •   living world case studies  
  •   clinical case studies
  •   biografical case studies 
  •   organisational case studies 
  •   interface between the practice of social work and the legal system 
  •   comparative case studies 
  •   case studies in social policy   

Learning outcomes

The graduate knows how to work on inter- and trans-disciplinary case studies using theoretical knowledge and empirical methods of social research, to reflect on practical cases of social work and connect sociopolitical contexts with social work practice and theory. The papers written in this course are acceptetd as bachelor theses.
