Student projects<\/h3>\n

Practical projects, excursions and practically applied teaching units are an integral part of the part-time degree programme. Students are immersed in the subject areas from the first semester onwards as part of labs and small projects and can link their professional practice with the lecture topics right from the start. External lecturers, project partners and students can provide impetus for current practical projects and discussions. Students are encouraged to bring questions from their day-to-day work to labs or exercises.<\/p>\n

The Institute of Energy, Transport and Environmental Management also offers particularly interested students the opportunity to work on current research projects at the institute.<\/p>\n

Excursion weeks: The window to the international professional world<\/h4>\n

Excursions as part of excursion days in the first two semesters and excursion weeks in the 3rd and 4th semesters of the degree programme allow you to immerse yourself in a new professional world. The aim of the practical teaching units ‘on the road’ is to familiarise you with different areas in large corporations or infrastructure facilities that you don’t get to see as a private individual. As part of the international excursion week, you will also get to know other living environments and interpretations of ‘environmental protection’, ‘renewable energy’ and ‘mobility transition’. Whether it’s cycle motorways in the Netherlands or offshore wind farms on the coast, the excursions open up a completely new perspective on challenges in the specialist areas.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Exploring air quality using air beam particulate matter measurements<\/h4>\n

As part of the course ‘Environmental pollution’, students also deal with the topic of particulate matter and the connection between air quality and the use of different heating and transport technologies. In practical exercises, students are given portable Air Beam air quality measuring devices so that they can carry out measurements independently in everyday life and analyse and interpret the particulate matter data collected with the support of an app.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
